DIY GPEC2 / GPEC2A Unlock — File Service ($135)
Want to unlock your GPEC2 or GPEC2A PCM yourself? If you have a tool capable of a complete boot-mode flash read (requires opening the PCM), we can modify your file and return it unlocked for you to write back.
This service is perfect for experienced DIYers, shops, and tuners who already have bench/boot equipment and just need a fast, reliable unlock file.
What You Get
- Professional file modification to unlock your GPEC2/GPEC2A.
- File returned in the same format you supplied.
- Price: $135 per file.
⚠️ We do not provide tunes or calibration changes. This service only unlocks the PCM so you can use your own tools/workflow afterward.
Required Tools (examples)
You’ll need a tool that can dump the complete flash in boot mode (service/bench mode). Examples:
- DC706

Other tools may work if they can produce a full boot read of the PCM. OBD reads/partial reads will not be accepted.
File Requirements

- Contents: Full internal flash image; include any separate micro/eeprom files your tool outputs.
- Formats accepted: Common raw binaries from the tools above (e.g.,
.binor the tool’s native export). - Name your file:
VIN_CustomerRef_Tool.bin(helps us keep things organized).

- Open the PCM and perform a boot-mode read with your tool (follow your tool’s prompts/test-points).
- Email the BIN and upload your file(s).
include Full Name, Contact Phone Number, Billing address and Complete VIN in email body. - We modify the file to remove the lock.
- We contact you via phone or email for payment.
- You write the unlocked file back to the PCM using the same tool.
- Reassemble, reinstall, and proceed with your own calibration workflow.
Best Practices & Tips
- Use a stable bench power supply (12–14V with adequate current).
- Follow ESD precautions; avoid flexing the board or damaging connectors.
- Do not send partial or corrupted reads—verify checksums/consistency in your tool before submitting.
- If your tool outputs separate micro/eeprom segments, include all of them.
FAQ
Can I do this over OBD?
No. A boot-mode read (PCM opened) is required to obtain the complete flash image.
Do you tune or change calibrations?
No. We only unlock the PCM file. You’ll handle any tuning/calibration work separately.
What if my file is incomplete?
We’ll let you know what’s missing so you can re-read and resubmit.
Will this clear DTCs or emissions data?
No. This is strictly an unlock service, not a repair, delete, or calibration change.
Which vehicles are supported?
Units using GPEC2 and GPEC2A PCMs/ECUs. If you’re unsure, send your PCM part number and tool read details.
